Anna Hamling, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Culture and Media Studies at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. She is the author or sole editor of more than 15 books, as well as 80 journal articles, book chapters, and encyclopedia entries. Her own interest in nonviolence and peace started about 10 years ago with the analysis of religious essays of L N Tolstoy. This led her to devote her time and energy to studying and publishing books on Women, Nonviolence and Peace and actively promoting peace across cultures.
